Prague Shopping, Czech Republic
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Prague has filled with apparel boutiques and shops appreciated by international tourists, that offer exciting items with renewed and fashionable designs. The street where you can find these stores is Parízska street, in the northern part of the Old Town (Stare Mesto).
Used book shopping is fun: history texts, original novels from the early 1900’s, illustrated catalogues. You can find anything in Prague’s stores! Don’t forget the large amount of clocks, antique furniture and extraordinary items, even rare, that fill the antique shops in the area around Prague Castle, which still brings the old Medieval markets to mind.
You’ll also find numerous food stores in the Old Town that offer a variety of Czech and European specialities. Try the Château Melnik, Baloun and Klas excellent local wines that are still rare in Europe.
Beer is undoubtedly one of the most significant products to be purchased in Prague: you’ll find it at great prices at the local pubs, without having to forgo its proverbial quality. Another example is given by Bohemian crystal, on sale in Prague in Wenceslas Square and along Karlova street, just a few blocks from Charles Bridge (great prices).
If you want to buy a classic Prague souvenir, perhaps glass or alcohol, without spending too much, try the Tuzek chain store, open in Prague since 1939.
