Lecce Getting There, Italy

The Salento is found in the extreme south of Puglia, exactly on the heel of Italy. If you are traveling by car or by train it will take you several hours to reach it, but the connections are simple thanks to the highway network and superhighways that connect the Puglia and the Salento to the rest of Italy.

By car: coming from Bologna, and from northern Italy in general, follow the highway A14 toward Bari and continue on Superhighway E55 toward Lecce. Coming from Rome or from Naples follow the A16 until reaching the A14 and continue as above.

By train: Lecce is connected to the rest of Italy by the Trenitalia network. The areas of the Salento are connected to Lecce by the network of trains and buses of the FSE. For schedules consult the Trenitalia website www.trenitalia.com or phone the call center Trenitalia 89 20 21.

By air: the closest stop to Lecce is the international Airport of Brindisi, connected to the major Italian cities (Milan, Rome, Venice, Bologna) and to some European cities. Information: Tel. (+39) 080 5800200 - www.aeroportidipuglia.it
A SITA car line connects Lecce daily with the airport of Brindisi. Runs approximately every two hours. Information: Lecce City Terminal: (+39) 0832 247882
