Cathedral of the Savior of the Spilled Blood
Built between 1883 and 1907, in the place where the Czar Alexander II was killed (March 13, 1881), the church recalls the architectural style of the 16th and the 17th century and of Saint Basil of Moscow. Bordered on one side by a splendid liberty-style fence, it is topped with 5 bell-towers with the characteristic onion-shaped cupolas. A full 7000 sq.m. of mosaics completely cover the sumptuous interiors.

Cathedral of Saint Nicholas
This is one of the most beloved churches of St. Petersburg, being the only one open in the communist era, and because it is one of the most beautiful. Ordered built by Czarina Elizabeth, its splendid Baroque style was designed between 1753 and 1762 by architect Russian Chevansky, student of the Italian Rastrelli. It is also known as the Church of the Sailor.

Cathedral of Saint Isaac
Czar Alexander entrusted this project to the French architect Montferrand. Completed in 1858 in neoclassical form, the Cathedral is immense. Its golden cupola (one of the symbols of St. Petersburg) is 101.5 meters high; the building is more than 111m long and 96m wide and can hold up to 14,000 people. The magnificent interiors are decorated everywhere with mosaics, paintings and reliefs.

Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul
It is located on the island of the Lepers. It was the first Cathedral built by Peter the Great, who had the Fortress of the same name built along with it. The Baroque work of Ticinese architect Domenico Trezzini, it houses the tombs of the Romanov Czars in its sumptuous interior. The golden spire that towers over all of St. Petersburg, with its 122 meters of height, is the work of Antonio Rinaldi.

The Hermitage Museum
This is the most important art collection in the world, fruit of the Czars’ and Czarinas’ passion for collecting. It was begun by Catherine II, who wished to have an exceptional collection between the walls of the Winter Palace, which was extended with spaces and works by her successors. In its rooms of extraordinary wealth, visitors can admire masterpieces of Raphael, Titian, Canova, Rubens, Rembrandt, Ingres, Renoir, Matisse, Picasso, Cezanne and many others.

Russian State Museum
Opened in 1898 by Nicholas II, it is the most important collection of all time in Russia and in the world of works of Russian culture, art and history. In a building complex that includes the beautiful Mikhailovsky Palace, Marble Palace, Mikhailov Castle and the Stroganov Palace, are more than 400,000 works, from medieval icons to works of the avant-garde (Malevich, El Lizzisky, Kandinsky etc.).

Kirov Home and Museum
This is the home of Sergej Kirov, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Leningrad, who was ordered assassinated by Stalin in 1934. The home preserves the furnishings, objects and atmosphere of Russia in the 1930’s.

Dostoevsky Home and Museum
Reconstructed based on Dostoevsky’s writings about the home where he lived with his second wife and children (ordered transformed into collective apartments during the Soviet regime), it is contiguous to some rooms of the Literary Museum, which houses editions of novels in various languages of the world, along with photos and testimonies of friends and contemporaries of Dostoevsky.

Puskin Home and Museum
These are the apartments of the poet, where he lived with his wife Natalia up to the day of his fatal duel. It has a wealth of testimonies and of relics of the poet. The library is very beautiful.
