Winter Palace
Facing the magnificent plaza of the Palace and the Neva, this magnificent, elegant building houses the Hermitage. Completed in 1762 as the first residence of the Czars, it is the masterwork of Bartolomeo Rastrelli, the Italian architect called to St. Petersburg by Czarina Elizabeth.

Summer palace
It is set in the beautiful Summer Gardens, designed by Peter the Great, with fountains and landscape effects intended to recall the gardens of Versailles. The palace is the refined work of Ticinese architect Domenico Trezzini.

Stroganov Palace
Built by Bartolomeo Rastrelli between 1752 and 1754, it is one of the most elegant palaces of St. Petersburg. Facing the Moika River, it was the residence of the noble Stroganov family and today it is one of the sites of the Russian Museum.

Marble Palace
The Neoclassic work of Antonio Rinaldi, it owes its name to its covering of more than 30 types of marble from Italy and Russia, used both inside and outside. A gift of Catherine II to her lover Grigory Orlov, today it is one of the sites of the Russian Museum.

Michailovsky Palace
Also known as Castle of the Engineers, it is located in the center of St. Petersburg. Ordered built by the Czar Paul, who wanted to make it his own residence, it is the work of architect Russian Bajionov. Similar to a fortress, it was once surrounded by water and was reached by three drawbridges.

Admiralty
Designed by Peter the Great in 1704, with a golden spire 72 meters high, it is one of the symbols of the city. Initially the naval shipyards, today it appears with the neoclassical form given it by the architect Korobov who completed the work in 1806. The three large arteries of the historic center spread out from here: Nevsky prospekt, Dzerzinskogo ulica and the Majorova prospekt.
