Piran Accommodations, Slovenia
Staying in Piran is not excessively expensive. The main hotels are comfortable and provide great views of the sea. However, the undoubtedly cheaper bed & breakfasts and three youth hostels are just as comfortable. One is just 30 meters from the sea. Renting an apartment is also an excellent solution. There aren't many but if you start looking early enough, you find great deals and locations.
