In addition to splendid landscapes, Granada offers a vibrant nightlife that is stirred up, among others, by about 50,000 university students that live in the city, which makes Granada into a cosmopolitan city pervaded by a euphoric and engaging atmosphere.

After 20:00, the places around the Plaza Nueva offer tapas, wine and music, preparing for an evening that never begins before midnight. The zone of Pedro de Alarcón or Vía Elvira, a few steps from downtown, has a variety of distinct atmospheres, from those requiring formal dress to alternative ambiances that are decidedly informal and youthful. At the steps of the Alhambra you will find the clubs favored by adult patrons, the same people who rouse the nightlife of the refined discos in Plaza de Toro.

During the summer at the Sacromonte you can dance to exhaustion in places with a suggestive atmosphere like the popular El Camborio. If walking along the Carrera del Darro or the Paseo de los Tristes in the late evening, you will have the possibility of going to a number of bars that open their doors around that time. While going downtown you have to visit Granada 10 on Calle Cárcel Baja.

Jazz and flamenco dominate the night at El Eshavira, on Calle Azacayas, while tribal music, deep house and rock concerts are part of the musical proposal of the Planta Baja in Plaza de la Trinidad. For those who appreciate orchestra concerts, the illustrious Orchestra of the City of Granada performs famous classical compositions at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in the Alhambra zone. You can find La Sabanilla in Calle San Sebastian, close to the Alcaicería, Granada’s oldest bar and a worthwhile visit.
