Barcelona Getting Around, Spain
Barcelona boasts a modern and efficient public transportation network managed by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).

Barcelona Subway (Metro): Barcelona has a subway system with six lines and 123 stations, along with an urban railway line (FGC) and 4 streetcar lines, which make it possible to move comfortably and quickly around the city. TMB Transport Map
Bus routes: a widespread network of more than 80 bus lines to arrive in any part of the city.
Tickets: a variety of types are available from single tickets to passes. Two to five day tourist tickets are available, used for unlimited subway and bus travel.
Sightseeing bus tours
is a service designed for tourists, with three fixed routes (Blue line, Red line and Green line) which explore all the main sights of the city. You can get on and off when you want with the same ticket. The one or two day tickets can be purchased on the bus or in main tourist information centers and in TMB customer service centers.
Transbordador aeri
a cable car which leaves from Montjuïc hill (from the Costa i Llobera gardens) and goes to Torre de Sant Sebastià, near the beach, crossing the entire pleasure boat harbor of Barcelona.
Montjüic funicular
a very beautiful scenic funicular which covers Montjüic park from the Montjüic funicular station to Montjüic Castle. It was closed for all of 2005 for upgrading. It should reopen sometime at the beginning of 2006.
La Tranvía Azul
(blue streetcar) is the old streetcar line used to climb the Tibidabo mountain crossing one of the prettiest residential areas of Barcelona. At the end of the line is a connection with the Tibidabo funicular which goes to the Tibidabo amusement park. Tickets can be purchased on the streetcar.
By bicycle
Barcelona has a good network of bike paths and parks where it is possible to cycle safely. CicloBus Barcelona is a service which lets you explore the city by bike. You can rent a bike for a few hours or several days, and pick it up and drop it off in different spots. Rental shops:
