By Car:, United Kingdom
For those coming from the continent by car, the easiest way is to cross the Channel from Calais (France) to Dover. You can decide whether to use the new Eurotunnel or cross by ferry (the most inexpensive option).
Eurotunnel has the fastest transportation service for passengers and cars between Calais and Folkestone through the Channel Tunnel. The service is available 24 hours day and the trips takes around 35 minutes. For information and reservations call +44 (0)8705 353 535 or use Eurotunnel's website.
Ferries: several companies provide car ferry service between Calais and Dover, tickets can be purchased on site or reservations can be made on their websites or by phone. We recommend the following companies: P&O Ferries +44 (0)8705 980 333, SeaFrance and Brittany Ferries +44 (0)8703 665 333.
Once you arrive in England, motorway M20 goes directly to the capital. London is completely surrounded by M25. Depending on your final destination, you should take M25 until reaching the most convenient exit. Congestion Charge: the center of London became a limited traffic area in 2003. To enter the area marked with a large C from Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. you must pay a fee by 10:00 p.m. on the same day. This fee can be paid online, at newsstands or at any store displaying the letter "C".
