Wild, just sea, sand or pebbles and sun: almost all the beaches on Amorgos are like this. No beach parties, no umbrellas and lounge chairs, banana boats or wake boards. Just silence and nature.

Aegiali is one of the equipped beaches on Amorgos and the most popular. The fine, white sand attracts the crowds. Boats leave the small port for nearby beaches, less crowded but just as beautiful. Levrossos is also less crowded. After Aegiali, drive towards Thoralia and follow the signs on the left. Park, follow the usual trail and you'll be on the beach in five minutes.

Aghia Anna is the beach where Besson shot The Big Blue. It's beautiful, with a fantastic crystal clear sea. 3 kilometers from Chora, a 40 minute walk from the Hosoviotissa monastery of just a few minutes from the parking lot. An enchanting site with nothing but a pebble beach, sea and small church.

Maltezi is a small beach near Katapola, framed by the mountains and fragrant Mediterranean greenery.

Kalotaritisa is at the south of the island. A bay with a long sandy beach, sheltered and peaceful where fisherman often bathe. Behind it, the island of Gamvoussa provides beautiful beaches only accessible by taxi boat from Katapola.

Beyond Kalotaritisa, after the village of Kalofana, you'll find signs for Paradisia. Here too, leave the car near the Aghia Paraskevi church and hike the 500 meter long path to the beach.

Mourou is the most beautiful beach on Amorgos. Walk down the 400 meter trail to the beach where the turquoise sea and peace and quite will astound you. Just up from the beach is a tavern with a spectacular view.

The Aghios Pavlos beach is half way between Katapola and Aegiali, on the east coast, in front of the island of Nikouria. Here the bright white pebbles, turquoise sea and psarotaverna (fish tavern) await you. Fishing boats will take you to the silent beaches on Nikouria from here.
