The festival of the blessed martyrs

A religious festival in honor of the 1480 Otranto massacre when 800 men were slaughtered by the Turks for not renouncing their Christian faith. Held every August around the fifteenth,
it's a religious ceremony accompanied by a procession and bands, ending with a spectacular fireworks display from the sea towards midnight on the last day.
