Leaving from the peaceful beaches of the Pineta, passing through the exclusive main beach and then continuing to the beautiful Costa Azzurra beach, Grado offers a coastline full of opportunities for relaxation, sports and entertainment. The seabed of soft sand, shallow water, the pleasant temperature of the water and the beneficial concentration of iodine in the air, makes the seaside resorts of Grado a relaxing holiday spot suitable for all ages. For years, Grado has been given the reward of the Bandiera Blu, an important certification attesting importance of public health and environmental sustainability. Many interesting meetings that go from shows for children to literary debates with important books and authors are held in the shade of the Gazebo Gardens, at the main entrance to the main beach. The main beach, with an entrance fee, offers top quality bathing facilities. This beach if found near the Water Park, the old city centre and the famous thermal baths of Grado that has an agreement with the National Health Service.

The last stretch of beach of Grado is connected with the main beach by the splendid path of the Damn and can be accessed without a fee. The Costa Azzurra is the best place in Grado to watch the sun set on the lagoon. Even here there are the usual sea side resort facilities and eateries.

The beaches of Grado Pineta are more spartan, “primitive” and low cost, but are probably better for people who prefer quiet, space and freedom, however, they are adequately served with beach facilities such as chairs, umbrellas, cabin rentals, pedal boats and bars. The newest and better equipped beach is Airone, which has a small pool and restaurant-pizzeria on the beach, used also for fun theme nights. Along the beaches both west to east, there are famous camp grounds such as Punta Spin and Primero. This enjoy the quiet and shade of the pine forest. This stretch of beach is particularly appreciated in other seasons as well because it is a good place for long walks or jogging on the very wide shoreline that takes on a lunar aspect in certain areas and when the tide is low.

Another aspect to consider, for those accustomed to the rocky seas, are the stretches of muddy sea bed. With a canoe or rented pedal boat tourists don't have to go far to find crystal clear water with blue-green hues and a pleasurable temperature. Here you can be peacefully lulled by an idyllic sense of tranquility, accompanied by the distant murmur of the beach and cries of the gulls. On windy days, kitesurfers are in their glory, here they find a place that is particularly suitable for their sport.
