Grado How To Get Here And How To Get Around, Italy

Overlooking the gulf of Trieste and the coast of Istria, the island is found between the lagoon of Grado and the Adriatic sea, a few kilometres from Monfalcone and Aquileia. Grade is about 20 km from the Trieste-Ronchi dei Legionari airport and 90 km from the Venice-Marco Polo airport, which provides connections by bus or taxi.

Grado can be reached by car by taking the Palmanova exit from the A4 Venezia-Trieste highway or the A23 Tarvisio-Udine highway and continuing 30 kms, passing by Aquileia, an early Christian archaeological site.

For those arriving by train, the closest station is that of Cervignano, 15 km from Grado, which is connected to the island by bus.

The SAF buses for Grado also leave from Udine, Trieste and other many cities. For detailed information on bus lines and hours, we advise you to directly contact the bus station of Grado. For those who want to visit Trieste, the ship line that leaves from the Torpedinieri pier of Grado operates from the beginning of June to the beginning of September.

Equipped marines like Porto San Vito, the Italian Navy League, the San Marco Dock, the Navigare 2000 Dock, the Cove and the port of the Tenuta Primero camp grounds are all found in strategic places for high sea excursions or excursions in the Lagoon of Grado and they offer a broad range of nautical services for pleasure boats.

Grado is attractive for people who love cycling. The Palmanova-Aquileia-Grado Belvedere bike path, is 16 km long and was completed in 2010. When cyclers arrive to Grado through this bike path, they are presented with an unparalleled waterfront view.

The valuable historical centre of Grado is a restricted traffic zone, this should be taken into account if you arrive by car in the summer months. To assist motorists during the summer months, there is a free bus service every 20 minutes and bike rental reserved to those who leave their car in the Sacca dei Moreri parking lot.

The bell-ringingtrain, that is found in many prominent tourist destinations, is a convenient and enjoyable means of transportation for children. It runs along the seafront of Grado Pineta, crossing the Garden City quarter and passes through the city centre streets.
