Hotel Cairoli is in an excellent location on the edge of the Centro Storico, near to many of the main sight as ell as to the cafes, restaurants, bars and shops.

The entrance to the building doesn't promise much and the lift to the third floor is tiny, but once you are inside the hotel it is spacious, clean and light. The staff are very helpful and friendly and speak good English, but they also let you try out your Italian.

The hotel has a small gym, a large lounge area with a library, a reasonably priced internet connection (or free wi-fi if you have your own laptop). Rooms are not large but are fine for most holidaymakers. TV, fridge with mini-bar, air conditioning (ours didn't work too well though).

There is a theme of artists in the rooms, with original works in the rooms as well as in the corridors and common areas. There is also roof terrace to relax on.

In the mornings, a continental buffet breakfast is served on the lower (third) floor of the hotel.

This is fine - not astounding but better than many you will find - coffee, juice, pastries, bread, jams, cereals, etc.
