Val Gardena Getting There, Italy
By car. The most popular way to get to Val Gardena is by the Brennero (A22) highway. From the South, once you reach Verona (even from the A4 Milan - Venice highway), continue towards Trento and Bolzano and exit at ‘Chiusa - Val Gardena’. Follow the signs for Ortisei, 20 minutes away. From the North, follow the highway from Innsbruck to Brennero and exit at ‘Chiusa – Val Gardena’. Follow the signs for Ortisei.
By train. Many people like to come to Val Gardena by train. There are many Intercity and Eurocity trains in Italy and Europe that stop at the Bolzano and Bressanone station. Some even stop at Chiusa. From the station, take one of the many buses for Val Gardena.
By plane. The Italian airports closest to Val Gardena are the Verona ‘Catullo’ and Bergamo ‘Orio al Serio’ (Milan) airports. Here you will find many buses to the valley. Special low cost shuttles are available in the winter (December - April). The closest airport in Europe is in Innsbruck, 100 km from Ortisei.
