Hotel La Venere, Florence city center Italy

The hotel is not completely obvious from the street but once we found it and climbed the three flights of stairs (there is a lift but it's small & slightly scary!) the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. She spoke very good English and offered advice on places to go & eat. We were staying in one of the three flats (il Magnifico) which was lovely & very clean. It had a well stocked kitchen (we cooked our own meal one night), huge bathroom & very comfortable bedroom. It also had a nice view of the Duomo and several Florentine roofs. The location is superb being a two minute walk to the Duomo and about 10-15 minutes to the Uffizi & the river. Some reviews commented on noise from the street and whilst we were occassionally aware of it, it didn't really bother us. I very much recommend staying here.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The flat was beautiful & it was a stones through from the Duomo (with a view of it from the bedroom window!)

What did not meet your expectations?
Towels provided were a little thin
