The Scansano Grape Festival

Open wine cellars, wine tastings, typical products: this is the traditional Scansano Grape Festival that takes placefrom 25th to 26th September and is currently in its 42th year.
Scansano is now full of tourist and wine experts who can taste our oils and the various wines from the Morellino region in the numerous wine cellars and gastronomic stands that have been opened for the occasion.
Morellino di Scansano is a wine made from the Sangiovese grape (up to 100%), warm and full-bodied, with a ruby red color that evolves into a garnet red over time and with hints of ripe cherries mixed with Mediterranean flowers. After aging, it is dry, austere, warm, slightly tannic with an alcohol content of about 11.5-12% vol.
This year will be in program two contests for the realization of the prize: "L'Orologio", with which will be given a prize to the best wine cellar and "La Mezzana", for the best wine.
