Elba Island Beaches, Italy
The Island of Elba is replete with fantastic beaches and a coastline punctuated by a myriad of diverse recesses and coves. Choose between pebbled beaches with waters reflecting a splendid bright green, black sandy coves (Norsi) colored by the presence of iron, and broad beaches of fine sand such as the one at Marina di Campo - the island's most important and liveliest seaside resort - and the refined Fetovaia beach. And there's no lack of rocky shoreline for those who like climbing.
The majority of beaches have a bottom which falls rapidly, and if you're vacationing with children it's advisable to spend your time on beaches such as Biodola at Lacona, or Marina di Campo, with sandy shores extending for at least 40 meters and not falling to beyond a depth of about one and a half meters.
Beaches are normally free; if you require a sun bed, beach umbrella or cabin, rentals are available from one of the Punti Blu - they are not everywhere but there are many nonetheless, otherwise you can spend your day at one of the many bathing establishments.
