Dolomites Railway, Italy

The old Dolomites railway, now in disuse, have become a spectacular bike route in the summer and magnificent cross-country ski route in the winter.

The Dolomites railway connected Calalzo to Cortina until the end of the 1960's. Fires and overhead caused it close down and be forgotten. Envisioning a great Dolomites route from Calalzo to Lienz, almost the entire line was recovered, transforming the old tracks into a slope.
