Cortina d'Ampezzo In The Summer, Italy
In the summer, the Dolomites are, perhaps, better for family vacations since they offer the chance to experience mountain life through panoramic walks and simple hikes, especially in the Falzarego-Lagazuoi area.
All this is found in an area that also includes 2 Regional parks, (The Dolomiti d'Ampezzo Regional Park and the Fanes-Sennes-Braies park). Sports fans can enjoy the paths prepared for trekking, nordic walking, mountain bike, 42 hiking paths in a network crossing 300 kilometers plus 8 via ferrata and 6 equipped climbing paths.
The historic paths cross the stages of the First World War, on the Italian - Austro-Hungarian front. These touching paths are open-air museums with the barricades, trenches and tunnels created during the endless trench war.
Another path leads to the beginning of time, when the first dinosaurs left their footprints 220 million years ago on the Pemetto rocks on Mount Pelmo. This 227-meter change in altitude is easy to walk in about one hour from Forcella Staulanza.
