easy (2-3 hours long): Cortina (1211m) - Mortisa (1244m) - Laghi Ajal (1412m) and Pianozes (1181m)- Campo di Sotto and di Sopra - Cortina
The area around Cortina is home to many lakes on the great mountain peaks. An easy and exciting route takes you from Cortina to the Ajal and Pianozes lakes where you can enjoy uniquely beautiful views of the Dolomites. You can take this hike without being weighed down by full backpacks since the lake refreshment stands provide everything you need for a hearty snack.
From downtown Cortina (Corso Italia) take the Via dei campi to the Boite, cross the river and take road 525 to the village of Mortisa. From here, leave the road behind and follow the rolling path to the dirt road that leads to lakes Ajal and Pianozes. Take path 428 and, at the fork, take path 429. Cross Rio Costeana and take path 430 to Lake Ajal. Walk back to the 428/430 fork and take path 430 to Lake Pianozes. On the way back, take the road for Campo di Sotto and Campo di Sopra and return to Cortina.

easy/intermediate (2 hours long): Bai de Dones - Shelter Scoiattoli - Shelter 5 Torri
The area around the Scoiattoli shelter provides easy itineraries of rare beauty. To reach the shelter from Cortina d'Ampezzo, take the Passo Falzarego road (SS 48) to Bàin de Dones.
From here, take path 440 from Bain de Dones that directly leads to the Scoiattoli shelter.
The Cinque Torri shelter is within easy reach of the Scoiattoli shelter (m. 2230).
easy/intermediate (2 hours long): Shelter Scoiattoli - Nuvolau peak
Starting from the Scoiattoli shelter take the mule route indicated as n. 439 to the Nuvolau peak (2575 mt), to admire the breathtaking view, one of the most beautiful in the Dolomites.

easy/intermediate (3 hours long): Cortina - Ronco - Lake Ghedina (1457m)- Cadin di Sopra - Ronco - Cortina
One of the most famous routes in Cortina, the one that leads to the captivating Lake Ghedina. It's best in the fall with the warm colors and lack of tourists. From downtown (Corso Italia) head toward the Boite, cross the river and head towards Ronco. Climb path 413 to the paved 414 path and then descend to Lake Ghedina. From here, continue to Cadin di Sopra (path 417) and on to Cadelverzo (path 415). From here, descend the bobsled track and cross the Boite for Cortina
