Guided tours of the Clock Tower

At the end of a long restoration, the Clock Tower in Saint Mark's Square has been returned to the city. Completed in 1499 by brothers Gian Paolo and Gian Carlo Ranieri, the Clock Tower is a true prodigy of mechanical engineering. Extraordinarily beautiful and complex, the astronomical information system that shows the movement of the planets on the clock's large center dial also displays the phases of the Moon and the Sun's position within the Zodiac. Time is beat by a bell struck by two side statues, known as the Mori.

Following an extraordinary itinerary within the Tower curated by Venice's Civic Museums Foundation, visitors are given a close-up look of the clock's complex mechanisms and access to the outside terraces to enjoy gorgeous views of Saint Mark's Square and the entire city.

Information and Times

Visits must be booked in advance with a specialized guide. Visitors must be no less than a party of 2 and no more than a party of 12. The clock tower is open for tours every day (except December 25 and January 1) at set times:

Tours in Italian
every day at noon and 4 PM

Tours in English
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 10 and 11 AM
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 1, 2, 3 and 5 PM

Tours in French
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 1, 2, 3, and 5 PM
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 9, 10 and 11 PM

Different times may be arranged for every language by purchasing 12 entrance tickets.

Adults 12 euros (includes reservations fee and specialized guide).
Clock Tower ticket holders also receive free admission to the Correr Museum, the Monumental Halls of Saint Mark's Library and the National Archaeological Museum.
