Hotel Al Piave, Venice city center Italy

We stayed in the apartment a few meters from the main hotel down a narrow lane. One of my daughters slept in the small bedroom on the third floor, my other daughter used the sofa bed in the living room and my wife and I enjoyed the master bedroom. There was ample room for all of us and a nice kitchen / dining area to eat in. The breakfasts were very good in the hotel and we got some good advice on where to dine etc. You feel like you are part of the real Venice in this area and not part of the tourist masses cramming into San Marco square, although it is only a 5 minute walk way. My advice to anyone traveling to Venice is to limit their time in the tourist hot spots and to explore the back streets and real beauty of the city a short walk away from the chaos....

Great location, friendly helpful staff and a good breakfast (especially the Cappuccinos) to start your day.

What did not meet your expectations?
The satellite TV in the apartment did not work.
