We have stayed at the Grand Carlton Hotel before in a standard room and found it to be of high quality so were happy to return. We booked 2 rooms. The first was a superior room for 2 people - it was excellent, spacious, and as we expected. The second room was a standard double room for my adult son. The cost of this room was a double room with no discount for only 1 person - therefore I expected him to have a standard double room.
The room was long and thin with 2 single beds placed end to end. I did not consider this room to be a standard double room and therefore consider that it was not good value for money. Although I like this hotel I would reconsider staying there next time.
