The accommodation was spacious and the old world palazzo feel was retained without compromising on modern comforts such as airconditioning and a well appointed en-suite bathroom. The public lounge/dining room was intimate and offered a view of the passing parade of people, gondoliers and other boatmen on the canal and the walkways next to the canal. The staff were particularly attentive and offered a level of personal attention unrivaled by any other hotel or guesthouse that we have stayed in. A particular welcoming touch was the staff's ability to know us by name even though the staff had changed while we were out and had never seen or met us before. They were unstinting in their efforts to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and shared their local knowledge freely, making our limited time in Venice that much more enjoyable. We were able, at times, to feel more local than tourist. Their English was excellent and their attention to detail made our third stay in Venice the most enjoyable of all.
