Verona Eating And Drinking, Italy
The area of Verona, between Garda lake and Lower Verona, is a land rich with mineral salts, permeable just at the right degree for the vineyards, ideal for fruit (cherries, peaches, pears and apples) and for vegetables (white asparagus, Verona cabbage, and red chicory).
Lower Verona is divided by resurgences and rice paddies. A beautiful place where the IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) labelled short vialone rice is cultivated, to combine with the traditional red chicory. The Garda area, between olive trees and secular cypress trees, is filled with precious and fragrant vineyards. Lessinia, north of Verona, is the land of cheeses and cold cuts, of which the famous sopressa of Verona.

Nine D.O.C. labelled products: Bardolino, Bianco di Custoza, Garda, for the hilly area of the lake; Valpolicella, Soave, Valdadige, Terradeiforti in the area north of Verona; Lessini Durello in Lessinia; Arcole on the plains.
