Guide of Piran, Slovenia

On April 19 and 20, the town of Piran holds a historic reenactment celebrating the departure of its townspeople for the salt-pans where they prepared the basins that collected the precious "white gold", salt. During the event, associated with the St. George's Day, the city's patron saint, you can visit the salt-pans, admire painting dedicated to St. George and the salt-pans, attend masquerades, eat, drink and buy local products like oil, wine and, obviously, salt.
