Seville Entertainment And Nightlife, Spain
Seville is a fun and lively city. The evening starts (or ends if you prefer) in Barrio Santa Cruz and at the Arenal where there are plenty of tapas bars for a night with company, music, wine, beer and snacks. The atmosphere is nice and charming, puts you in a good mood and prepares you for a great night out in Seville.
The Alameda is one of the places we recommend you go. Every small bar has tables or terraces where young people get together to have fun, drink and socialize. If you like flamenco, Triana is the place for you, with small cafes and impromptu performances on the street that sometimes last until dawn!
Not too far away, this neighborhood offers the excitement of Calle Betis, a street that follows the banks of the Guadalquivir. There are plenty of bars and pubs here, and if you want to quench your thirst, cervezas, copas and the Cubata (rum and cola or gin lemon) are not lacking! Never.
If you decide to spend your night on the dance floor of a nice nightclub, the Island of Cartuja is what you want and it is definitely worth it, considering the quantity and quality of its dance clubs with great international DJ sets.
The best advice we can give you, however, is to roam the streets. The night brings a bit of relief from the heat of the day, especially in the summer, and pushes people to pour into the streets of the city. This is where the nights of Seville come alive, and there is even the possibility of discovering some hidden, romantic and quiet corners, perfect for a seductive and passionate trip for two.
Casa de la Memoria
If you want to discover the true soul of flamenco and avoid the most tourist-filled places, immerse yourself in Barrio de Santa Cruz and ask for the Casa de la Memoria. The patio where the shows take place is charming, the musicians and dancers are absolutely stunning and you will be left speechless at their skill and passion. Highly recommended!!!
Religious and other festivals
There are three moments during which the liveliness of Seville is particularly high, showing the spirit of its citizens and the power of some secular traditions whose celebrations are fun to attend. On August 15 the entire city and its surroundings are engaged in the Procession of the Virgin of the Kings, a moment of devotion that involves everyone despite the vacation period.
Another excellent religious celebration is the Holy Week, a truly must-see event. It usually takes place in the period between mid March and late April, involving no less than 500 thousand people in songs, dances, parades in traditional costumes, all enveloped by a sense of religiosity. The parade of the Virgin with crowns of gold and silver, embroidered robes that reveal only her hands and face, is excellent. Following the long procession to the cathedral for a while can be an unforgettable experience on your vacation.
Also in the spring, Seville celebrates the Feria de Abril, a spectacular display of colors and banquets under awnings, gilded trees and decorations along the streets, fireworks and pubs open for dancing the traditional dances of Andalusia. A party 24 hours a day!
