Barcelona Grec Festival

A spectacular summer festival held in June and August.

Barcelona is flooded with a series of theater, music, literature, dance and flamenco performances. For five weeks, crowds can enjoy over 50 events in a dozen of secondary locations, first and foremost the enchanting settings of the Grec theater.

This theater was built during the 1929 World Fair, following the layout of ancient Greek theaters and surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation.

A series of the world's leading artists have performed since the first Festival edition (1976).

Classic and contemporary, conventional and avant garde, the festival gives voice to different top quality musical and theatrical expressions, performances that share the desire to incite the audience, inviting them to reflect while spending interesting and pleasant evenings.

Tickets will be on sale starting in May 2011 on-line at the Festival's official website or at the Palau de la Virreina box offices, at Caixa Catalunya bank branches and at the Festival booth in Placa de Catalunya.
