We would recommend the Hotel Gaudi in Barcelona for anyone who would like to have a clean, comfortable, and affordable accommodation in Barcelona. Even though the building was old, the rooms seem to have been recently remodeled. The staff was pleasant and helpful, including reception, bellpersons, housekeeping, and the dinning room staff. If you are expecting a view of the city, this is not the place for you. No matter if you have a room that faces the street or a room at the back of the hotel, there is no view. The hotel is on a very narrow street in an older part of town. Our room was at the back of the hotel and as a result, escaped any noise from the street. However, in a city as lovely as Barcelona, you should be out enjoying Barcelona, not sitting in your hotel room. The hotel is across the street from a building designed by Gaudi. During the day, there is quite a bit of foot traffic, especially right in front of the hotel, making it difficult to get into the hotel, but it was not a big issue. We would go back to the Hotel Gaudi, no doubt.
What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The cleanliness of the room, especially the well appointed bathroom. The breakfast was above average for this type of boutique hotel/B and B. The proximity of the hotel to La Rambla and to various forms of transportation to get to other sights in the city.
