The best loved drink of all the British
Traditional English beer is Bitter or Ale, with a golden color and strong taste, but the beers which are currently drunk the most are light European tradition beers, the Lagers. The third alternative is the dark, strong-flavored Irish beers, called Stout, like the famous Guinness. Cider, fermented apple juice, warrants a special mention. Some traditional types have obtained the European Union's GIRL mark.
