It is true, the hotel is very picturesque. However, it is also quite expensive compared in other hotels in the region. If you travel to Italy to sleep in and sit around a pool with a group of Americans, this might be the place for you. If you travel to Italy to sight-see and experience the native culture, I would think twice about making this a destination spot. The staff of the Villa Giulia relies a bit too much on the charm of the hotel and is less diligent about service. When we arrived, our room was not the original room we had reserved. The room was on the 3rd floor and had a private bathroom, on a 4th floor (you climbed a staircase to get to the bathroom). This was in some ways charming, and in some ways inconvenient. Also, there was no water (let along hot water) to take a shower in the morning. My 2 person party opted to eat dinner at the Villa, which was tasty although quite basic. We were told the meal would consist largely of local, fresh produce. The meal included: store-bought toast with a tomato slice (appetizer); pasta with olive oil and cheese; and a zucchini filled with meat sauce. This is not a 40 Euro meal. (And not to be too negative, but there were plenty of Mosquitoes in the common rooms and in the outdoor dining area). When we were ready to check out at 8am the next morning, we were questioned as to why we wanted to leave so early. The price of meal from the night before had not yet been calculated and breakfast was not ready.

Risposta della direzione alla recensione: Was it worth it?

Dear Guests, Villa Giulia lies among the sweet hills, the sea and the most interesting architectonical places of the Marche, and the large, panoramic swimming pool is the deserved reward for our Guests after a day spent exploring the beauties of the Region! You booked a Superior double bedroom, and at your arrival we were pleased – as we usually do if possible – to offer you an upgrade to a larger and romantic Junior suite; the meal, 20 euro per person, was prepared with our usual care and with organic local products (we make our own bread every day) The reason you were asked why you wanted to leave so early was nothing but pure kindness! My family cherish and preserve Villa Giulia since many generations, it’s a place that offers its Guests the sense of the history of our charming country, and a warm hospitality. I regret that all our good intentions have been misunderstood, and I really hope to have soon another chance to reconcile you with our beloved Villa Giulia! Anna
