Granada Squares, Spain
Plaza Isabel La Católica
Dominated by the statue of Columbus, intent on presenting his ambitious project to the Queen, at the square of Isabel La Católica two of Granada’s main streets meet: Gran Via de Colon and Calle de los Reyes Católicos. From the square one can see the Cathedral and other relevant monuments.
Plaza Bib-Rambla
It is a broad rectangle with a fountain in the middle decorated by an imposing statue of Neptune. A lively place full of restaurants, florist shops and street performers, for a time it was home to the Inquisition’s processes of flogging and burning at the stake.
Plaza Nueva
An ideal meeting place to start the evening, going from one place to the other in the company of tapas (snacks) and good music. During the weekend, the streets immediately next to this refined space surrounded by beautiful palaces become a vibrant option for a relaxing walk.
